Fairly sure I remember a Viz comic strip where a mad scientist was going to unleash a "sex bomb".

Copilot managed to con its way into getting a subby to install it on our company Slack a few days ago. They didn't even realise they'd enabled it.

It's basically just malware at this point isn't it?

Folks, I'm going to - at some point - need to start retailing stuff online. These are physical items - PCBs, spare parts, that sort of thing.

Where's non-fash and reasonable to do this now please? Happy to self-host and just have the checkout interaction bit.

UK-based. Ltd co, we have a Sumup acct but no Paypal.

(I have a vague memory Shopify is problematic now?)

As seen elsewhere:

The balaclavas and masks worn by the far-right, roundabout-painting, lamppost primates are now to be referred to as
“nonce bonnets”

Happiness is a Jess playing bangin' tunes to a busy dancefloor.

Smashing gig last night even with the unexpected intermission! Who knew "Head Like A Hole" by NiN segues really well into "I've Had The Time Of My Life" by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes? Consider me schooled!

Quiet month before the run-up to Christmas - https://retroroadshowuk.com if you fancy hiring me, I cover West Yorkshire primarily but can do rest of UK if the deal's right!

...forgot I had these on and answered the door to a delivery driver.

"Er... ok, that's a first."

A serious look while I road-test the latest Roadshow props, all waiting for an 80s night to happen.

I remember these being all the rage around 1983ish. I had a little stash of them back then, I'd use the glitter shapes from the top in craft stuff!

Maybe not use them on a conf call tho, my international colleagues might not 'get it'.

Radio production people: do you have a go-to co for jingles please? I need some for the Roadshow (and the upcoming radio show), and I'd prefer personal recommendation*.

Jingles are quite a specific creative thing, so as much as I love you musicians, I need someone who knows about jingle production and VO, with a portfolio online please!

Edit: Can't believe I need to say this, but no AI please.

(* polite way of saying I can use a search engine 😘)

Yorkshire pals, I'm doing a gig to celebrate 10 years of my debut album. There'll be songs from the other two albums too, and some new stuff. You should come!

Friday 27 November at The Red Shed, Wakefield. 8pm start, probably going to be a bucket-shake on the bar because I'm not sure I want to ticket it yet, but that's tbd.

If the lycanthropes want to engage in a bit of dogging in a toilet called Harry Potter, ad well as some high quality territory marking, who are we to stop them?

An enquiry came in last night, and after a quick meeting this afternoon it seems I'm running a Pride disco in one of Wakefield's two remaining LGBTQ+ venues for Wakefield Community Pride this weekend. Hooray.

Update with details: The Rainbow, Sun Lane, Wakefield WF1 1SA - needle goes down at 3:30pm and runs to about 9pm. Requests welcome and the dancefloor is open!

And here's one from the front, mid-flow. I think I was singing along to Basket Case at this point.

Crap selfie cos I'm terrible at them and I was working, but here's a pic from last night's wedding gig. Full dancefloor, bangin' gig, lots of happy people. Bloody love doing this job.

(And you can hire me if you're in the Yorkshire area! https://retroroadshowuk.com for more info.)

Note: it really does need to have a PoS machine. Mobile phone not an option, nor a mobile phone workaround. We've done that before and it really didn't work in our use-case.

Currently using SumUp to take card payments in-person when I need to.

I've spent the past three weeks trying to get any sort of response out of support, to change the business type to the Ltd Co (something I need to do before the first MTD deadline). No dice.

So it looks like I'm closing the SumUp account before the deadline.

Any personal recommends for a (non-useless, low-volume) UK card payment system please with PoS card machine? Extra points if it'll handle invoice payment too.

A lot of acquisitions at the record fair today - started off with one of my regular dealers handing me about 25% of the wantlist in 7" singles...

Plenty to go at including some "first dance" songs for upcoming weddings, etc. Beatles, Cher, Andre Brasseur, Franki Valli & Four Seasons, Hollies, loads more besides. Super-pleased.

As seen in Scarbados.

Found a smashing little ale pub in Scarborough, "The Stumble Inn". No tellies, no football, no holidaymakers, six wickets and a lot of bottles. Well worth a trip.

Cola Boy! Two of St Etienne in disguise, with Janey Lee-Grace (of Steve Wright's posse). I'd go for that.
