Ok revised introduction I because I'm publicly coming out today in celebration of pride month!
Realized I was a girl about 8 months ago, still working on the details, but I've never been as certain about anything in my life.
Software developer for *for-fucking-ever* OMG how am I so old.
Mostly worked in C/C++ backend stuff, RTOS networking, avionics, deep backend web stuff, and more recently XR, which I'm not actually a huge fan of for a number of reasons.
Avoided gamedev for years and years and dipped my toes in ONCE to try it out and now I'm 13-odd years into a "quick weekend project" and what I do is more like a project manager than a coder. The project is Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, an open-source post-apocalyptic survival RPG with an unusual fixation on keeping the setting hard-scifi (except the zombies and stuff, nothing hard scifi about them).
Since it is currently In the Year of Our Lady 2026 let me say fuck LLMs, just to get that out of the way.
