I understand there’s no straightforward way to stop this abuse being aimed at rape victims who come forward. But neither can we just accept it as an inevitability, like the weather. It’s wrong and must end.
@ivory Is it a known issue that animated GIFs consistently fail to load? Here’s a screen recording demonstrating it.

The interaction between politics and EA nutters is hilarious to me.
Any given EA nutter might become a billionaire, or they might rhetorically or literally self-immolate on live TV. So the political folks don’t know whether to hug them or run away. And so the question of their “home” on the political scene stays unresolved.

Rapist creep. Do not give him money. https://thesource.com/2025/07/26/fifth-accuser-files-police-report-against-smokey-robinson-for-sexual-battery/
You have seen images of the “demon core”, can mentally picture it, and would recognize a representation of it if you saw one in the wild.
@zzt do you have me blocked — why? — or am I running into some tilde.zone weirdness when I try and fail to see your posts? I guess you might not see this.

Would the owner of the black and white male mockingbird 2025 model, no plates, please proceed to the tree behind my house and silence the alarm. No one is trying to break into your mockingbird.
“That cat’s been shedding,” they say appreciatively when I show up to the jam, sounding like shit, covered in pet hair #jazz

Friends, if you think you might need a lawyer for something, go to the trouble of getting a referral and having a conversation with one.
It won't cost you anything, and the lawyer will tell you whether you actually need one or not. They're usually overworked and will not try to sell you their services if you don't need them. I know that "trust a lawyer" sounds weird, but it's true.

Shocking that the Reselling Everyone's Work Without Consent or Credit company also treats consent as a non-issue when it comes to spying on their customers.
I feel terrible for all the people who wanted to wanted to use the Stolen Work Machine without being spied on, of course.
Sometimes #Europe looks like a beacon of reasonableness. And then the US launches a war of aggression against #Iran, and Europe falls right into line supporting it, as if it's a perfectly normal and appropriate thing to do.

Happy #BlackHistoryMonth. I’m leaning *hard* on Black history to understand and respond to the current moment. I’m grateful for the education I’ve received in it, formal and (especially) informal.
Yeah, those of us paying attention always knew it wasn’t about saving money. But lying to the public about it was still immoral; and also, the “higher purpose” was eugenics. https://mastodon.social/@arstechnica/115810424467219191
RIP Don Bryant. Thanks for the music.
Remembering that some of us spent the Biden years clamoring to #AbolishICE. We were right.
I knew something was wrong.
