This weeks #Lego #FossilFriday is #Torosaurus

In 1891, John Bell Hatcher found a pair of ceratopsian skills with elongated frills with large fenestrae (holes) in the frill. Othniel Charles Marsh named the Torosaurus.

Most people think the name means "bull lizard", from the Latin "taurus" or Spanish "Toro", but its might actually be from the Greek "toreo" meaning "to perforate". This is an allusion to the fenestrae in the frill itself.

What's the most famous film/TV location near to you?
For me it's probably On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The scenes shot in Bern are quite close by, and the Piz Gloria/Lauterbrunnen scenes are a short-ish drive (& cable car) away.

This week for #Fossilfriday we have another #Guess that #Lego #Fossil.

This one i would rate as easy. This large ceratopsian can be found in North America.

Hide your guesses behind a content warning, so others can guess without being spoilt. I will post the answer tomorrow (and to anyone who guesses correctly).

This was designed by TheDinosaurDave .

Happy Godzilla Day to those who celebrate!

America, you got this

Blood Red Shoes @ King Tuts Wah Wah Hut

"It’s really easy to take a band like Blood Red Shoes for granted, to think of them as that band who had an album you loved back in 2008. But then they come to town and play a show where every single song is a belter."

All across the country, I’ve heard from folks who are sick and tired of what they’re seeing from politicians right now. This Election Day, we have the power to vote for the candidates who will bring about the change we need.

Real talk: when you’re young, you have the rest of your life to look forward to. When you’re old… you don’t. It’s up to you to *give yourself* those things.

It’s never too late to start. Learn, create, explore new things. The universe is vast. Even small things contain infinities. When I pass, I want to be in the middle of 1000 projects.

VOTE. ✅

Do NOT listen to the polls.

Do NOT listen to the news.

Remember, as long as you're in line to vote, you can still vote, even if the polls supposedly closed while you were in line.

Do NOT leave that line until you have voted.

Do NOT believe it is over until you have voted. ✅

Hey U.S. mastodonians 👋

I ran large national polls out of two major RO1 universities for >10 years & I have a message:

Ignore the polls. They’re unreliable.

Just get out there and #vote! 🗳️

This weeks #Lego #FossilFriday is #Cedarosaurus

In 1996, the Denver Museum of Natural History found the holotype in the Cedar Mountain Formation. It was partly articulated and preserves all major skeletal elements except the skull, cervical vertebrae and sacrum

In 1999, Virginia Tidwell, Kenneth Carpenter and William Brooks published on the find calling it Cedarosaurus weiskopfae.

Its named after the formation it was found in, and the late Carol Weiskopf for her hard work in the field/lab
