"Proof Autistic People Face Brutal Life Outcomes":

I think the very first recipients of UBI should be the #ActuallyAutistic , if only to try to offset/alleviate this brutally shorter statistical lifespan.
@autistics

After watching this excellent and thought provoking #philosophy video "How Different Cultures Defined a Life Well-Spent ":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-PbzIuo78s
...I think I can finally explain the purpose and function of #autism @autistics

Autistic people were described by the Maori culture as "existing in their own time and space", as apart from everyone else. I think that there is good reason for it. Sometimes one finds oneself born into a Social milieu so toxic, that a radical psychological defense is necessary, which is what Autism essentially is. Let me use an analogy. Are you, dear reader, Engineer enough, or geek enough to understand what a "breakout board" is, and why it's useful?

I say Autism is #psychology's "breakout board". When everyone around one is so neck deep in a bunch of "narcissistic shared fantasies" and can't find any escape, there needs to be some escape from it, some sort of "escape hatch", as it were. Autism provides this "Escape hatch": similar to what a "breakout board" allows *to the right engineer geek, for the right purpose*.

The Sally Meatballs, Susy Housecoats, and Joe Sixpacks of the world (who are not engineers or geeks), will never understand why a breakout board is valuable. They will scratch their heads, missing the *intensely context-specific* function and purpose of the breakout board. You have to have an Engineer's or Geek's perspective to see the value. Similarly, most people will never see how Autism is a good thing, *for its specific function and purpose*.

#ActuallyAutistic

@autistics #Autism isn't any sort of epidemic that needs solving with some sort of high priority. It apparently affects only 1 person in 35. Far sooner should the "epidemic" of the root causes of #ADHD be addressed, as it affects 3-5% of the population (that's a Canadian estimate). Actually, people with high narcissistic personality trait are something like 5% of the population. Of these 3 groups of people (let's leave co-morbidities off the table for a moment), it's arguable that those with high narcissistic personality trait cause the most societal damage by far (look at the scale of societal damage that one Trump can cause). Therefore it's the worst "epidemic" of the three, that needs addressing first. It's afflicting the highest percentage of people at 5%, and causes the worst societal damage through all the socially-toxic behavior ("narcissistic shared fantasies", narcissistic abuse, etc).

@autistics There were about 5 of us total yesterday, and we played long after the stated ending time, as everyone was having so much fun (I left the server on for longer).

@autistics @murdoc New this week was Voxelibre 0.93. Torches work properly at night, when held in hand. Newly created bookcases can also hold books properly.

@autistics

I've decided to limit announcements of the weekly #Voxelibre game (Saturday afternoons) for the Autistic/ADHD/AuDHD just to this group, discontinuing full-public posts. I'll experiment with making "Quiet public" posts only.

Here's mine: I can live my best life in this mindful, spacious, embodied way, but as to all the richness of my experiences, I don't get to describe it without ruining how awesome it is

A "Raccoon Cup" - my own nickname for it - is an instant noodle cup, which has chopped up, raw veggies thrown in to make it a bit more healthy. Here the veggies are orange pepper and spinach.
