Yeah, I know Twitter should be completely dead now, but I notice one thing that's healthy about the discourse om Mastodon. I can't remember the last time I saw a link to twitter from Mastodon, I only ever see screenshots these days.
It's not enough, obviously. But it's not nothing, either.

Read this carefully. It is one of the most insidious forms of concern trolling out there. The basic structure is:
Here is an awful thing done by the Republicans and why you whould be angry with the Democrats.
This is literally in the context of the repblican-directed government raid on Democratic lawmaker Ilhan Omar.
The point is redirecting your anger away from the Republicans. It's as bad faith as bad faith can be. #ShrugAndBlock

Brilliant analysis. Go read.*
* Actually, you are a creature of free will and divine dignity. At heart, you cannot be forced to do anything that goes against your soul and your nature. But it IS a fine piece, and I would greatly appreciate it if you would - by your own volition - direct some freely given attention to it.
If your first reaction to a positive development is to start listing why it's not enough, I'll block you.
The development probably came about through the concerted, intelligent efforts of a lot of people.
You're telling them their efforts do not matter.
More work needs doing. We all know that. Keep you allies standing to do the work. Appreciate what they have done and what they are doing.
Nope, chaos thy name is kitten, floor lamps are not for landing.
Peanut wants to know what that strange thingy is.
For Caturday I give you the new additions to the household. The darker grey floof is Lulu, the slightly lighter floof is Peanut. They arrived on Thursday and they have already forced me to relocate my—apparently very dangerous—plants. Also everything is a mountain to be climbed. Chaos has arrived!
My research project, Writing With the Dead, has a fully funded PhD position available. Terribly exciting—and also with very nice people involved.
Come to Copenhagen. Do Grundtvig stuff. Wisen up.

Do repost, please.
Watching Moscow dance this dance yet again has an udeniable element of skadefryd* to it. However, the loss of influence the malevolent regime in Moscow has suffered is also the source of a joy far beyond any indivdual feeling. It is the joy of harm averted and of hope renewed.
Yes, gloat as much as you like, but if you can give yourself leave to rejoice.
* Danish, same meaning as the German "Schadenfreude".
I don't know who needs to hear this. But the Hungarian election really isn't about American politics. It is, unsurprisingly, about Hungary. I am so happy for them. Congratulations!
Bondi out!

Denne kunne godt spredes mere. Hvis de kan, kan vi også!

Nah, you know. We're good. We will defend you if you're attacked as promised, we won't support a war of choice that should have never been started.
Danes have learnt the hard way what value the current US adminstration puts on Danish soldiers' lives.
If you're not already following @SeanCasten can I ask you to do it?
He is one of very few politicians who takes Mastodon seriously as a platform of communication - and he does a bang-on job of it.
Give him a hand, a follow and some extra reach, please.
Ok, so Thursday I'll be teaching Terry Pratchett's "Guards Guards" to my fairly high-brow literary students. My task will be to show them that it is a wonderful piece of literature.
Personally, I adore it, but it may take a bit of work to get my students around.
Didactic suggestions?
Suuuuk. Eller som @scream ville sige:
AAAAAAAAARGH
