As we descend into flu season, please consider getting boosted against #COVID and #flu. In particular if you're planning to attend superspreader events such as #40c3 and #fosdem

#München stabil

#Prüf #pruef #bayern

#FOSDEM will happen on the weekend of 2027-01-30 and 2027-01-31!

We'll post a proper news item once all the automations work after our yearly archiving cutover.

https://fosdem.org/2027/

@russss how did you end up doing #CO2 monitoring at #emfcamp? Between #fosdem and #eventinfra we are close to spending 10k€ on #airgradient because they do most things right, and we were not able to get our own hardware spun up.

Intention is for everything to go into the eventinfra loan pool so ALL the conferences can monitor their environments.

Before we make that step, we wanted to check if it makes sense to collaborate on fully open hardware, firmware, and software stack instead.

View from the campervan. That's our sleeping place tonight.

Godly.. almost bovine..

Fun fact, the French Astrological Society has eight spots across Spain in which they observe totality. Their main system has two cameras, huge counterweights etc. the base alone apparently costs up to 12,000€?!

Anyway, that was broken yesterday night. I always have tools and oil with me, and we fixed it over night.

There's hundreds of people around here, and we're the only ones who get to look through their equipment as a thank you.

Greetings from Aguilar de Campoo; #solareclipse

@Codeberg so, about /me threatening to switch off #IPv4 during #FOSDEM and thus taking down #GitHub... Look what they did two days after my toot...

https://bgp.tools/prefix/2606:50c0:c0de::/48#whois

They're not reachable yet, but that's progress. No matter what, I will only have #IPv6 on the @fosdem default network.

You'd be working close to me, on the Interactive Learning feature: Basically, teach Grafana from within Grafana.

I've wanted this for roughly a decade, it's been my main work focus since May 2025.

It's fun, and impactful.

Wanna get #fedihire d for working on #Grafana ?

The community team is looking for a second data scientist. For Reasons(TM), we now call that Senior Machine Learning Engineer 🤷

If that sounds interesting, these are the links for the countries we are looking to hire in:

Hey #GitHub, it's roughly half a year until #FOSDEM.

As a reminder, I will disable the #NAT64-based #IPv4 fallback on the default network next year. The default network will be #IPv6-only.

I do note that @Codeberg does support IPv6.

Hey @Gina et.al, it's roughly half a year until #FOSDEM.

As a reminder, I will disable the #NAT64-based #IPv4 fallback on the default network. The default network will be #IPv6-only

#Fosstodon is still IPV4-only, so that will be impacted.

I did bring a Pringles can which got almost crushed before I opened it. I will bring a bag of chips tomorrow.

One for the #scuba #scubadiving and #science #physics bubble:

What would be fun to take into a compression chamber? I'll be "diving" down to 14 meters, aka 1.4 bar above ambient pressure, a few times and it's getting boring.

I'll bring my dive computer one day, but otherwise..?

A single contact in my #signal list which I have an empty chat with (not communicated in years) keeps sending "chat session refreshed" like no tomorrow. Two updates yesterday, roughly 200+ (yes, two hundred) in the last hour.

I blocked the contact, but am still receiving a plethora of "chat session refreshed"

Does this match any known attack patterns, or does anyone have another explanation?

I am wary of replying in case it's part of some attack pattern.

#retoot and reasonable speculation OK

#maker pro tip: you can save 0.20€ by cutting open a glued-shut tube of #superglue. if you press the tube hard before doing so, you can observe a small fountain of superglue that glues your right hand into a blob. this will distract you from the fact that your 25€ #knipex box cutters are turning into a blob as well.

gotta spend money to save money!

@confconf now exists for all your #confconf needs

RE: https://fosstodon.org/@confconf/116188032617974544

Last year, we brought together #CCC, #COSCUP, #eventinfra, #FOSDEM, #FOSS4All Korea, #FOSSASIA, #FOSSNorth, #IndiaFOSS and I am certainly forgetting several.

If in doubt, poke me if you'd fit.

And please help us: like a conference? Make their organizers aware of this.

And, as always, #retoot appreciated!

With my #FOSDEM, #ConfConf, and many other hats on:

We will be organizing another https://ConfConf.org ! An (un)conference about organizing conferences.

6th and 7th of June in #Sofia, #Bulgaria

Same as last year, we will be focusing on #OpenSource and #Community conferences. We will either remain invite -only or closely review all registrations to make sure it's community people.
